NOBAB was founded by the five nordic countries, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden late in the year 1979. Originally the objective was is to promote wellfare and wellbeing of sick children during and after stay in hospital. The organisation has therefore over the years focused its activities on flaws and deficiencies in the care and the situation of children which have to stay in hospital because of their illness. Still quite a lot of efforts goes to matters concerning hospital stay but the organisation has widened its scope of activities and by now uses a great del of its resources to handle all contacts of children with the health care system and other social systems which may affect the quality of life of a sick child.
The organization has been operative for about 30 years. During those years NOBAB has earned reputation as reliable and solid organization.
